Accept Your Unique Entrepreneurial Journey: Follow Your Own Path

Comparing real life to other people’s highlight reels.

In today's world of social media, we often see stories of people who became super successful in their businesses. It's easy to compare ourselves to these successful folks like we do with famous people. But what we might not notice is that these successful folks had some things that helped them a lot.

They had good chances, strong support from others, great teachers, and they didn't have to work regular jobs. These things played a big part in their success. But what about the rest of us who didn't start our own businesses super early or don't have the same chances and support? Does it mean we're too late or we missed our chance? Nope, not at all.

It's important to know that being hard on ourselves doesn't help us get better. When we compare ourselves to others, it just makes us focus on what we think we're not good at, and that doesn't help us improve. Science even says that being too tough on ourselves stops us from getting better.

Everyone's journey is different. Even if we try really hard to copy someone else's success, it won't work the same way for us. I, as a new entrepreneur, learned this firsthand. The stories I heard from successful women were helpful, but when I started doing things, my experience was totally different. My situation and how I think are unique, and no story could cover all of that.

So, how can we change our thinking to accept our own unique journey? Start by asking yourself an important question: Why do we think our inner guidance isn't good enough to lead us the right way? Success isn't just for people who followed the same path. It's about being yourself, using your talents, and trusting your gut feeling. I’m glad I learned how to do that.

In navigating the abundance of coaching services, and online courses, recognize yourself as the expert in your journey. While they can be helpful, what worked for others may not fit your unique path. It's okay to learn from others, but always trust your instincts.

Looking at the big picture, your age, where you come from, or the chances you missed don't stop you. Instead of only looking at what others did, focus on what you're good at, what you love, and what makes you different. Success comes when you do things your way, embracing the journey that's all yours.
