The importance of putting oneself first.
When is it appropriate in relationships, friendships, career, etc. How does one put oneself first when they're not well-practiced in it?
I was recently asked to write an article on my knowledge about the importance of putting oneself first to be shared with Mass Appeal Magazine whose slogan is “It’s an Inside Job”. How one feels on the inside reflects the outside. Inside Out tackles issues of self-confidence, self-esteem, and self love.

In our fast-paced world, the constant demands of relationships, friendships, and career can easily overshadow the importance of prioritizing oneself. Yet, this practice is not only crucial for personal growth but also a key determinant of success in all aspects of life. Striking a balance between giving to others and carving out time for self-care is a delicate art, and time management plays a pivotal role in achieving it. For business owners, time is a precious asset, and mastering its management becomes the keystone in maintaining sanity and fostering growth. By setting clear boundaries and staying focused, individuals can create the space needed to nurture their well-being, leading to healthier and more authentic relationships. Recognizing that putting oneself first is not selfish, but rather a vital step toward becoming more effective in supporting others, empowers individuals to make informed decisions and embrace self-compassion.
Although putting oneself first may not come naturally to everyone, it is a skill that can be honed with dedication and the right tools. The foundation lies in self-awareness—taking the time to understand one's needs, values, and priorities. Armed with this self-knowledge, individuals can confidently communicate their boundaries and aspirations in relationships and professional settings, allowing for more meaningful connections and productive endeavors. Review your progress and adjust.
